The world's largest trade fair, the #CantonFair
On October 9, the #CantonFair mascot press conference was held in Canton Fair Media Centre.
Mr. Chu Shijia, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Canton Fair, Director General of China Foreign Trade Centre, unveiled the mascot and gave an address.
Mr. Chu Shijia introduced that after many modifications of the design, the bees were confirmed as the Canton Fair mascot.
The friendly bees are named "Haobao" (Bee) and "Haoni" (Honey).
"Haobao" is the boy's name, bao is a homonym of Bee, meaning preciousness and perseverance, which symbolizes that Canton Fair is a precious treasure in the history of China's foreign trade development, and has made important contributions to China's opening up and economic and social development.
"Haoni" is the girl's name, homonym of Honey, meaning friendly and beautiful, which symbolizes Canton Fair is a bond of friendship, a bridge for trade, a "golden name card" of China, playing an important role in promoting friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign people.
The first character of both mascots is "Hao", which means that the sellers and the buyers are good, China and the world are good. It reflects China's commitment to peace, development, cooperation, mutual benefit, and higher-level opening up, so that "Made in China", "Created in China", Chinese brands and technology will benefit the world, creating a better life for people around the world, and injecting confidence and vitality into the stable development of the global economy.
As an important image in the Canton Fair public promotion, "Haobao" and "Haoni" will be widely used in domestic and foreign promotion, cultural and creative product development, and will play a greater role in raising the profile of the Canton Fair, carrying forward its spirit, enhancing the reputation and international influence of the Fair, and continuously polishing the golden brand to better serve the national strategy, all-round opening-up, the innovative development of foreign trade, and the building of a new development paradigm.
