Succeeding in Waterproofing: Pay Attention to the Details!

Published: 2023-10-25 09:25Views:

In bathroom waterproofing project, usually we need to handle the detail nodes first beforeproceeding to the large surface painting

construction.

Why do we need to deal with fine nodes at first? Because 99% of the bathroom leakage problem sare  from 1% of the waterproof nodes.

If the detailed nodes of the waterproof treatment is noteffective, then the bathroom is most likely to have water leakage problems.

What is a waterproof detail node?

Usually, waterproof detail nodes refer to the parts of thebathroom that are prone to weak waterproofing, such as threshold stone parts,

floor drain parts, pipe root parts and corner parts. As the bathroom leakage problems are often concentrated in these parts, so the

treatment of fine nodes to a large extent determines the waterproof quality of the bathroom.

How to handle these detail nodes?

Let's take the corner as an example to explainCorner is the part of the wall and the ground intersection, which is often referred

to as theroot of the wall.In the case where the wall and the floor are not integrated, there are

often gaps at the junction of the intersection of the two. In order to prevent the leakage of the water into the

gap, we need to apply an arc treatment to the shaded corners and paint a layer of

waterproof coating on it, sometimes with a layer of non-woven fabric. This will enable the wall and floor to form a compact integral unit

and prevent water from leaking into the gaps again

In addition, usually waterproof coating is applied by brushing from top to bottom, which can lead to paint accumulation in the corners of the wall.Thick paint accumulation in the corners is not only hard to be dry, but also

prone to cracks.

In order to avoid the above situation, we need to smear arc treatment for the corner area. In general we can use the leakage fix to arc

the corners. After the leakage fix is filled in, a curved trowel can beused to make the corners into a rounded shape. When the leakage

fix is dry, brush another layer of waterproof coating, non-woven

fabric and brush another layer of coating can be applied. This can ensure the waterproof

effectiveness ofthe corner area.
